Improving Profile Reporting
With millions of users exiting Instagram’s profile reporting flow before completing a report, the experience was overdue for a redesign.
I worked with my team to understand the guardrails and requirements of reporting, as well as the different user problems the legacy flow was trying to solve for.
Due to the potential risks of a redesign, my Product Design partner and I created A/B/C test variants that would help us decide which design yielded the highest number of completed reports, while preventing any integrity risks.
The winner was a design with updated information architecture, simpler words, and a flow that was more intuitive.
